I am a proud alumni of Chandler High.  I will always be grateful for the education I received.  After earning a masters from Stanford I returned to serve my city.  In addition to my two terms on the City Council, I have also worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations that give back to our community.  As a student, the citizens of Chandler invested in me and I am happy to return the favor.

Simply put, an override is an investment.  When a community elects to support its local schools, the benefits are shared by all.  Funds from a previous override afforded the district the chance to establish a STEM program and open up Chief Hill Learning Academy.  Investing in the STEM program has produced tangible results.  Students attending CUSD schools make up a mere 4% of all students in Arizona; however CUSD students have won half of all statewide awards in the science and engineering fairs over the past 2 years.  Programs, such as Chief Hill, which give students a second chance have helped increase the district's graduation rate.

CUSD is an integral part of this community.  Please support our local school, and vote YES this November.

I give my permission for this letter to be printed as a pro statement, letter to the editor and for social media.
