My name is Zak Ghali, and as an alumnus of CUSD, I urge every voter to vote YES on the 2017 CUSD Override.
The quality of education in the CUSD is top-notch, and I know that I owe my success today to the personal and innovative instruction I received in my ten years in CUSD. In elementary and middle school, CUSD provided to me the opportunity to enroll in the CATS program, where I learned not just content, but how to think creatively, too. In high school I took enough AP classes to put myself ahead when I went to college. Now, I am studying for a Master’s degree a year early because of the advanced path CUSD propelled me to.
I cannot stress enough how the education I received in CUSD positively impacted my life. Now, voters have the chance to afford those opportunities to other children in CUSD – at no new cost to the taxpayer. While our state legislature slashes education funding, let’s prove that those of us in the CUSD care about our kids and want to keep CUSD a #1 school district. Thank you, and please join me in voting YES on the 2017 CUSD Override.
